Cedar Backup moving to SourceForge
=========================================================================
Note: In an effort to reach as many people as possible, this message has
been sent both to the cedar-backup-users mailing list and to other
people who have shown an interest in Cedar Backup in the past.
==========================================================================
Cedar Backup is moving from its home at cedar-solutions.com to
SourceForge. There are a number of reasons for this move, but it's
primarily because SourceForge offers an integrated platform (i.e.
Subversion, bug tracking, mailing lists, etc.) which makes it easier for
me to administer the project.
The new site is up and running at:
http://cedar-backup.sourceforge.net/
The existing pages on cedar-solutions.com will be updated to point to
SourceForge sometime this weekend.
All of the old releases (for both v1.x and v2.x) have been placed in the
SourceForge downloads area.
The Subversion repository has been fully migrated to SourceForge,
including the new cedar-backup3 project. (Users who have a Subversion
working copy should delete it and get a fresh copy because commit ids
have changed.)
New mailing lists have been created:
cedar-backup-users@lists.sourceforge.net
cedar-backup-devel@lists.sourceforge.net
cedar-backup-svn@lists.sourceforge.net
To subscribe, see the mailing list page at SF:
http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=210468
The new SF -users list serves the same purpose as this list. The SF
-devel list is for development-related discussions. The SF -svn list is
hooked into Subversion and records commits against the repository.
I will be disabling the mailing lists on cedar-solutions.com later this
weekend. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to import the old mailing
list archives (AFAICT) so I will be maintaining those archives on
cedar-solutions.com indefinitely.
Thank you all for your interest in Cedar Backup in the past. I hope
that this move to SourceForge helps serve you better than the existing
facilities on cedar-solutions.com.
