It seems like most people just use Cedar Backup as an application, not
as a library.
Unless I hear from anyone else on this subject (privately or on-list), I
think I will probably structure Cedar Backup 3 as an application where
the library interface is not necessarily preserved from release to
release. Preserving the interface can be painful, and it isn't worth
the cost if no one is relying on it.
However, even if I relax the restriction somewhat, I will probably still
commit to preserving the interface for parts of Cedar Backup that are
normally used by extensions (i.e. utilities and configuration
functionality). That way, extension authors do not necessarily need to
track Cedar Backup releases.
