Cedar Backup v2.13.0 Released
Cedar Backup v2.13.0 has been released. This release contains bug fixes
and enhancements.
The first enhancement is the addition of a check_media flag in store
configuration. This resolves a long-standing enhancement request, bug
#5 from several years ago. If this flag is set to Y, then Cedar Backup
will refuse to write a backup to disc unless the disc "belongs" to Cedar
Backup. A new initialize standard action has been created to implement
media initialization.
The second enhancement is the addition of an optimized media blanking
strategy. By default, Cedar Backup blanks media at the beginning of
every week. With the optimized blanking strategy enabled, media will
only be blanked when Cedar Backup predicts that the next week's backup
will not fit on the media. This will be most useful to people who want
to use the same DVD media week after week. Thanks to Dmitry Rutsky for
the initial implementation and for help with testing and documenting
this enhancement.
